Stock Profiling
Stock Profiling – also known as Asset Performance Evaluation (APE), stock sustainability assessment or stock grading, is an essential tool for any organisation as it will allow you to understand the costs and benefits of holding assets within your property portfolios in a clear and concise way.
Why does Stock Profiling matter?
Housing providers are coming under more regulatory scrutiny to manage Value for Money. The Regulator of Social Housing, Value for Money standard, introduced in 2018, means that providers must be able to outline their strategy for delivering homes that, meet a range of needs and ensure that optimal benefit is derived from resources and assets. The Regulator’s expectation is that organisations have a ‘forensic understanding’ of the costs and benefits of holding each asset, and that organisations use this information to drive decision making about assets. The outcome should be decisions to invest and di-vest in assets that ultimately improves overall organisation value for money performance, reduces operational costs, increases surplus and leads to better performance in meeting organisational objectives.
